Sønderborg Lystbådehavn: Tranquility Amidst Forests and Beaches

Sønderborg Marina, or Sønderborg Lystbådehavn, is located on the south side of Sønderborg. When sailing through Als Sound, navigation must be timed with the opening of the bridge in Sønderborg. There are nice waiting areas here that can be used until the opening.

The entrance to the marina is very straightforward, and it was relatively easy to find an available berth. The marina has excellent sanitary facilities and a nice marine shop right nearby. So, if there's a need for shopping for repairs, etc., it's easy to take care of.

The marina is situated in beautiful surroundings with woods and a beach all around. It's a lovely walk from the marina into the town of Sønderborg, which is charming and nice on a sunny summer day. There are good opportunities for jogging in the areas around the marina, and on the southern beach, there are outdoor workout facilities. For children, there are several playgrounds, a crab bridge, and a very nice bathing beach.

We spent 4 nights at Sønderborg Lystbådehavn. The clear downside of the place was the distance to shopping. The harbor and facilities are good, but comfort for guest sailors in terms of shopping hasn't been considered within the harbor
